Before learning how to perform operations such as addition, subtraction and multiplication on matrices,  let us define the common types of matrices that you should know.

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to differentiate between the following types of matrices: Row Matrix, Column Matrix, Zero Matrix, Rectangular Matrix, Square Matrix and Identity Matrix.

A matrix with only one row is called a row vector or row matrix

What about a zero matrix?  A zero matrix is a matrix whose entries are all zero!
