I have already witnessed what Red Mercury and Blue Lotus can do. There is a truth in the old man’s words, the barrier between worlds can be erased!”
“It can be a capital mistake,” Doyle replied nonplused, “to theorize before one has all the data. What you are about to try is dangerous, Mr. Crowley.”
“It's simply a natural progression for humanity.” the would-be wizard shot back, unphased by the skeptic’s warning, “We're always seeking answers to the big questions. And my experiments offer a way to connect with something greater than ourselves.”
“I put my stock in science and reason. I do, however, think some things can't be explained by either and I must admit, I'm intrigued,” Doyle smiled, lifting his pipe to his teeth and chewing the stem absentmindedly, “Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. I am sure science and spirituality can coexist, and that we have much to learn from both, but there are lines that should not be crossed.”
“There is a great power in the unseen world that can be tapped into and used to our advantage. The power of the supernatural is something to be explored and respected.”
“I agree,” Doyle again smiled, “as long as you approach it with an open mind and a healthy dose of skepticism.”
