Well. That was probably not a great idea. I mean, we’ve had some pretty bad ideas these past few months, but I think this one might just take the cake. Eh, whatever, though, what’s done is done. Though speaking of what’s done, well, I guess it’s not done just yet. Getting the Grimoire is one thing. Keeping it safe from the Dark? That’s a different problem entirely. And we aren’t even the only ones after this ratty old thing. From what I’ve heard through the grapevine, or coffevine, or whatever is atmospheric enough, A23 wants it too. Not just A23, Division Alpha. Astrid. Big problem. Though perhaps even a slightly bigger problem than Astrid, the Courts also want it. Well, want it back. Technically it was in their quasi-possession in the first place.

Turns out the Grimoire is what the higher-ups like to call a... crap. I forgot. Something important. Divine... uh... no, it can’t just be Divine Artifact. That’s a bit too straightforward. Is it Holy? No... uh... Well, regardless of terminology, it’s important. It can do things. Terrible things. This isn’t your average fanfic, is what I’m trying to get at here. This is actually the third “Holy Artifact” we’ve come across at this point. First the Scepter of Solomon, then Mechanism, and now the Grimoire. Really what I’m getting at is we should be compensated for keeping these things out of the Dark’s possession. I mean, honestly, the Court could do a better job here.

Of course, the Scepter vanished after it was used, and the Mechanism is... more complicated but more or less useless without the other pieces... but the Grimoire is a bit more of a tangible threat at the moment. It won’t just vanish. And if Astrid gets it, who knows what she’ll do with it. If the Dark get it, well, I’m pretty sure they’ll use it to get the Enochian Bible somehow. And if the Court catches up to us, well, we’ll be in, I guess, pretty serious trouble. And that’s why I think it might be a good idea to perhaps shift the blame elsewhere. Besides, from what we’ve heard, the other Cafe just finished up a major order of their own. They’re probably bored to death. So perhaps this could be a fun new challenge for them. Besides, we need to get this thing as far away from Umbra as we possibly can right now. We can figure out the specifics later.

Right, well, I just had a very aggressive rin tin tin wag with my older and younger brothers. Seems like our little stunt has certainly caught the attention of the supernatural world at large, just our bloody luck, eh? I would say get ready to also have IRIS on our arse, but it seems like Astrid has made this a personal problem, so Jordan can't or doesn't want to stick his finger in this London mince pie. Though, and let's just keep this between us, yeah? To my knowledge, Jordan is right in league with the bloody Court. Always has been. So in a roundabout way, I suppose he's still got a horse in this race.

Then there's Viktor and Hachiro. Viktor wouldn't give a Chupa's hair about some Vatican piece of tat. He's more concerned with the livin' heaps of coke. And Hachiro... I don't know much about Hachiro. Don't know much about Yaksha at all, if I'm right, honest. Though, from what I can guess, if Jordan has backed down, then Hachiro almost certainly has backed down. Astrid is the scariest of the heapin’ pot, chase me a Bobby. Well, no, maybe Viktor. But like I said, unless the Jackdaw ‘n Rook breathes, it's not worth his nickle ‘n dime.

All that to say, the list of people who know we stole a holy artifact is growing. Though, I suppose it would've Martin Luthered it’s way to IRIS eventually. But if Astrid pulls some strings and gets all the Indigo Orgs against us, well, we can't take on the blood Indigos and the Dark at the same time. Not without..., no, not even going there. So I think Nik's right on this one. We need to move the Knight to Rook as soon as possible to get the heat off of us. And the other Cafe isn't a bad choice, choice? We can trust 'em, and they aren't too busy as far as we know. Let's send Big Guy over their way with the book, and then we can figure out what exactly they wanted with it in the first place. I've got some scans of the book, though we're going to have to have New Guy give 'em a read.
