Season 3 Memoirs of Death, chapter: HALBERD (1900)

Do you expect gratitude for freeing me? - These were King Jinn's first words while entering the room.

“If a God can be in debt, I would owe you forever for what you have already done” - Master modestly replied.

Jinn smiled with his baboon grin and continued: “I am glad you didn’t forget. And I am glad you managed to find a way for the Book of Sun and Gnosis to find a way into that young man's hands. If now you ask for my counsel and wisdom in return, I can give you my support in a fight you are preparing for.

“My father is still hiding somewhere, I need your help to reason with him, tell him to return” - Master was direct in his wish for the first time.

A very small, easily unnoticeable smile appeared on Jinn's face: “I was expecting you would ask me to terminate your nemesis “Mr. Death”, but of course, your father is a priority. You, out of everyone still on Earth, know best your father's virtues and sins, why don’t you lure him out with bait? - Jinn already started to make a plan, something he excelled in during the many millennia he spent among the humans.

“Things changed here while you were absent… Humans are not believers anymore, there are new Gods out there who have taken our places.” - Master raised his hand as he wanted to brag with pieces of souls on the walls that were moving how he remains to have many followers in these difficult times. But they both knew it was not enough to make any serious impact on the human world.

Jinn was not able to accept that his power had shrunk over time, but both of them felt and knew how time changed everything. “From the devoted worship of a whole civilization, we came today in a situation of ultimate fear from us” - Baboon's face was now clearly upset - “I feel like a freak show attraction.” - he said with a much lower tone, accepting the new reality.

Possessing people these days can be dangerous for faith to remain strong - Master interrupted.

“I don’t understand… I gave them everything… all the wishes humans could think of…” - the face of the monkey started to transform into another animal but returned fast back to its original form.

“Yes, but you killed many people in the process.” - Master confirmed something Jinn already knew.

“I didn’t kill, I made them free from any moral limitations their mind can have, so they can do what they were destined and born to do…” - King Jinn concluded.
