TW: Flashing/Strobing Lights
This one is creepy - for some reason it feels creepier than the others so far. A few weeks ago we were watching Svengoolie when an Amber Alert activated the EBS. Those tones just scream something into my gut.
Maybe what’s super creepy about this tape is that it's so specific. When I hear the name of the town I'm sitting in while writing this it puts me right on edge.
Now that I know at least one of these was broadcast, it has me digging for more information too. But I can’t find news coverage about this, TBH. That’s more disconcerting to me than that tone blaring in this video to me.
I have two degrees in history. I know how to do research. I'm not just flubbing a Google search. There’s just nothing out there that references this event. Not just “only a couple things.” Literally nothing that I can find in newspapers, books…
0:00 - FTAA Warning
Transcript: This is an activation of the emergency information system for the following areas: Washington County, Maryland, Frederick County, Maryland, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, Adams County, Pennsylvania. Effective 6:45 am Eastern, the FTAA and Department of Defense have expanded boundaries for the full military isolation and curfew zone centered on Fort Ritchie, Maryland. This zone has been extended to a radius of 20 miles. The area impacted now includes the entirety of the Cities of Hagerstown, Chambersburg, Town of Taneytown, and Borough of Gettysburg. Additionally, the Borough of Waynesboro and Town of Thurmont continue to be included within the radius. Due to the continued temporal incursion and increasing volume of unknown individuals entering this era from downstream temporal zones, non-emergency and non-military personnel are under a strict 24-hour curfew. All public thoroughfares are open solely to emergency traffic. Security checkpoints have been established to control traffic and confirm temporal residency. Any person outside of their residence must display an “A” security rating card prominently in their vehicle and be prepared to show proof of temporal residency. Civil and military authorities are working diligently to bring the situation under control. Please remain calm and report any potential temporal invaders in your area to the FTAA. This concludes the activation of the emergency information system, April 16th, 1992 at 0745 hours.
