From the Memoirs of De(a)th, chapter name: Disoriented
I went to see them in the park. An old man was sitting on a bench, with familiar cane in his crossed hands. It was like the cane was holding him and not him holding his cane. Next to him, a pregnant woman was sitting clutching her wallet in her hands. I could tell she was in distress.
“How far along are you?” The silence was broken by the old man, moving his head towards her.
She looked at his eyes with love and fear at the same time, fighting a battle inside of her head. She answered immediately: "7th.”
"You must be excited,” he continued, "Family is the most important thing in life.”
She stared at him just long enough for a tear to drop from the corner of her eye. She didn't answer... She didn't know what to say.
"Is everything ok?" he asked again, frightened that he had said something he shouldn't have.
"No, it is just a difficult time right now"
