Cafe Crisis (2019)

(Duck’s notes: Due to the different plot threads, I’ll be using different colours to mark them. The main plots - locating Miss Masoch and later setting up the Fourth Cafe - will be in black, managing Friday will be red, the Other Cafe will be orange, finding Julia will be yellow, clearing the Third Cafe will be green, the Otherworld Investigation will be blue, and the miscellaneous poems - both 1313 and Cold’s - will be purple.)

also, remember that many of the people mentioned in TTT and DF may not exist here, since both of the Cafes’ forces are weakened from dealing with the Twice Third Temple, Sevenfold Sect, the Dark, and everything else.

• JIH02 - 8/26/19: 8 (Jackie) leaves a receipt. It talks about Julia Wandsun, a regular person who walked in and asked for help as they were wrapping up the events in Dive Fall, with the Sevenfold Sect and also Miss. Webber. Apparently, her parents told her about the CaD as a child, which is really strange since she’s 24 years old. Likely, her parents were linked to the First Cafe. She’s been chased by Miss. Masoch, who is linked to the Wicked Blight that possessed both Jean (the original Owner) and Julius Mendoza, aka Carajillo/Big Guy/26 (T.C.), so that’s fun. Masoch seems to ‘drink White Tea’ - i.e., is from the Morningstar. Julia’s camping out at the Cafe for now.
• JIH03 - 8/27/19: 35 (Kyle) checks in. 2213 (Warren from Dive Fall; Seth Warren or S.W.) spotted Masoch around Julia’s apartment, but it hasn’t reached the CaD. 224 (Victoria) is also working on covering their tracks. 35 says to tread carefully and safeguard themselves against Masoch.
• C-ABB01 - 8/28/19: 62 (Mike) intercepts a transmission from Astoria. It mentions Webber and his defection to the Dark, and seemingly asks Hotel to intervene. It also mentions something called ‘NETZACH’, linked to the Zulus. Also Astoria apparently worked with the Twice Third Temple.
• C-ABB02 - 8/29/19: 3311 (Travis) talks to Sondheim, one of the leaders of Division Bravo. Sondheim demands to hand over Julia immediately, which is suspicious since a direct threat is definitely unlike them. 3311 suggests to keep Julia and figure out what Astoria wants with her. Also, 53’s dealing with Masoch while 224 and 2213 are going to investigate Bravo.
• C-JIH04 - 8/30/19: 53 (Amber) figures out that Masoch is Le Loyon, the Ghost of Maules. She was in their files after her disappearance in 2013, which is strange since no Cafe was active at the time and actively focused on stuff like Masoch. So there’s three options: either Masoch did it herself, the O.C. somehow did it even though they don’t use the Mr./Mrs./Miss. system, or Sophie Grenbelrn (belphegor) did something.
• C-ABB03 - 8/31/19: 224, last of the Triple Threat, leaves a message. (don’t ask me where 134 and 125 went they’re probably either dead or left the cad). 224 volunteers to work with 2213 to warp into the Astoria HQ if they somehow manage to get Bravo to leave their base. She suggests pretending to give up Julia as a decoy.
• C-ABB04 - 9/1/19: 2213 and 224 manage to warp into the HQ after 23 attempts. They literally ended up in every single Division aside from Alfa and Zulu. At the very least Charlie, Lima and Juliett were alerted to their presence, but either way they got the info. Julia’s parents are Adathan and Ariel Wandsun, and she is part of ‘Operation: ANCHOR POINT’. Masoch is from the Morningstar, and wants to collect a certain debt. There’s also mention of a lost cult and a bright light. 2213 also manages to memorise the file ID.
• JIH05 - 9/2/19: 11411 mentions how strange it is that Masoch is from the Morningstar, since most Morningstar demons are Mr. level, not Mrs. and most certainly not Miss. Mostly since the Morningstar is for virtuous souls, so they probably don’t want to massacre humanity.
• ABB05 - 9/3/19: 62 mentions that even with the file ID it’ll take him a while to decode it. In the meantime he suggests investigating Masoch by themselves to scan her blood and figure out which Plane she’s from - Morningstar is really suspicious - and asks 4121 (Jenny) to scry Masoch.
• JIH06 - 9/4/19: 8 leaves a receipt. She reiterates that the Cafe isn’t going to turn Julia in, and that their plan is to just hit Masoch easily, figuring out her weaknesses and taking her out. She mentions that Masoch is going to be an incredibly strong threat, especially since the CaD’s lost about half their people to the Twice Third Temple and the Sevenfold Sect. She calls this a ‘last crisis’ to deal with before setting things up for a new era of the Third Cafe, or possibly even a Fourth.
• MSK04 - 9/5/19: 1313 (Rachel) leaves a message about some sort of prophecy about Masoch and her link to the Wicked - an ancient, powerful Elder. It’s here:

• C-MSK02 - 9/6/19: 4121 agrees to help out and promises to stay with the Cafe after this. She scries Masoch and inadvertently clues her onto their location - somehow, Masoch saw her astral (ghost? your ‘body’ when scrying) form and released a pungent gas, dubbed ‘funk’, cancelling the connection. Strangely, the gas’s smell lingered even in her actual body. She figured out that Masoch was in some sort of mountain, and asked 2213 to go around and check.
• C-MSK03 - 9/7/19: 2213 locates Masoch’s previous location and finds some of the funk still around. It’s denser than air and strangely has some liquid properties when disturbed. It also has a ‘stygian-yellow’ colour at its core, which is almost solid. The putrid ‘burning acid rotten eggs’ smell was also capable of penetrating multiple masks. 2213 stores the core in a jar and returns to the CaD for further tests. After that, the non-core gas dissipated.
• IFA01 - 9/8/19: 35 also promises to help, but warns them that there’s a Friday the 13th soon. Even with the Temple being dealt with, Friday/Weekend’s probably going to return anyway. Also, the back of the Cafe seems to have been trashed ‘a few months ago’ and Weekend’s eyeball is probably missing.
• C-IFA02 - 9/9/19: 53 suggests an idea: cover all the clocks in the CaD. If they don’t know it’s friday, Weekend won’t know it’s friday. It would probably work as long as someone doesn’t realise ‘hmm it’s probably friday already’ cause that would let Weekend in.
• C-MSK04 - 9/10/19: 53 snorts the gas. It’s hallucinogenic. When the hallucinations kick in, the smell changes from rotten to ‘sickly sweet’. It also seems to be mildly addictive.
• CC-IFAA - 9/10/19: 2213 and 53 chat, bringing up the idea of snorting the hallucinogenic gas to prevent the CaD from realising it’s the 13th of friday, effectively blocking out Weekend. Of course, the gas doesn’t last forever, but still.
