Note: the nature of time itself in Building 17 feels a little finicky, so this timeline is speculative at best.
- Sumner, Mundusa, the Director, and other members of the League of Cartographers journey between dimensions using the Carta.
- Something goes wrong and Sumner’s team members are trapped outside of spacetime in the Endless Shore, maybe becoming the Echo.
- The Silent Ocean and the Echo, a manuscript from the Office of Endings, is leaked and published by Castlewood Glade.
- Sumner joins Cygnus Solutions Inc., run by Cygnus Halloway, possibly hopping timelines to do so.
- Sumner constructs the Eye, a window into the Endless Shore.
- 1985: Echo meets Bniton, the author of TSOaTE.
- 1989: Oddvar, Beechum, Halloway, Sumner and Laybeth Expedition to Hornsundind. Samples containing Endless Ore are discovered, such as the C. Halloway S2 gemstone.
- 11:23 PM, September 13th, 1989: Utilizing samples taken from Oraefajokull and “resynchronizing the harmonies” of the gemstone, Halloway gains access to the Endless Shore, a metaphysical space between dimensions.
- 11:59 PM, the same day: The Syphon is used to link to the Cygnus Thicket, the first location in the Endless Shore discovered; it takes the team longer than expected to return
- Once a stable connection is established to the Endless Shore, the Echo is discovered haunting certain Cygnus Solutions Inc. equipment.
- August 24th 1990: The Cygnus Coast is discovered and explored.
- September 21st 1992: The Cygnus Desert, the 5th such location to be sourced from the Endless Shore, is discovered and explored.
- Sometime between 1989 and 1992: The Buildings are designed and constructed (or found?)
- 1994-1995: The League of Cartographers (seemingly) acquire the Whitstrine Quartz from a mining convention in Blessing, Texas.
- Cygnus Solutions Inc. moves into Building 1 due to running out of space at HQ, and later the other Buildings.
- Building 17 is founded by Halloway, Sumner, Oland, and Matsumoto.
- Mundusa and the Director are “recovered” from the Endless Shore.
- September, 1996: Halloway’s beta AI terminal goes offline.
- At some point, Halloway is lost.
